Question Is the FLV Player made by Applian Technologies?

Is the FLV Player made by Applian Technologies or by a 3rd party developer? Awhile back in my research it appeared to be made by another company and was open source. What are the chances of me contacting the developer to assist in improving the product for accessibility for the blind PC user?

Yes - we have purchased FLV Player from a third-party developer. Here is a link to their site:

    Hello,

I was just wondering if you could tell me if it was compatible with YouTube, and how would it work with sites such as that?

The youtube.com flv videos will playback within your browser. They do for me. The Applian FLV player will playback the .flv files you have on your hard drive, flash drive and other media like from a data CD. I also believe on the youtube.com site you will see http:// URL for a video which you can copy this URL http:// and play it within Applian's FLV Player.

With Replay AV 8 URL Finder utility you can capture/record the youtube.com videos and they are in .flv format. You can find this URL Finder in Replay AV Tools menu. The best program to use to capture the youtube.com videos is to use Replay Media Catcher.

You can playback your recordings you made with Applian's FLV Player. Run the FLV Player. It is in your Start menu, Programs, Replay Media Catcher. Since I am blind and I do not hear any of the images on this player I use the keyboard shortcut of ctrl o to bring up the dialog box to locate my .flv files on my computer. I believe this FLV player has a URL option but it isn't accessible for me yet. The developer could add a ctrl u keyboard shortcut for blind users so we can play URL type .flv addresses.
