Default cannot convert .mov files from my digital camera

I recorded some videos with my digital camera, and when they are saved on my computer they are saved as .mov files. when I tried to use Replay converter to make them .avi or .wmv files, I received errors, and the video would not play. The following message came up on my screen in Windows Media Player:

DirectShowSource: Could not open as video or audio.

Video returned: "Directshow Source: Couldn't open file (filename.mov):
Cannot play back the file: The format is not supported."

It said the same for the audio.

Any suggestions how to convert this? The current file only can be played using Quicktime, which is painfully slow.

You asked this in tech support and we determined that your file was not a 16 bit map but an 8. At the present time the program can only work with a 16 bit file.
