Hi All,
We have just been made aware that the Fast Video Downloader is not working with the newer YouTube videos. We are looking into this. Your patience is appreciated!
Best Regards,

Applian Technologies, Inc.
Fast Video Download add-on recently stopped functioning.
No other downloader can compare. I miss this puppy.
I imagine YouTube restructured some code and a solution requiring re-coding is necessary.
Does anyone know the skinny on why this has happened?
WHAT HAPPENED!
Ok by now we users and lovers of Fast Video Download are freaked that the add-on tool doesn't work.
We are not alone. Other downloading tools that once worked on YouTube have become dysfunctional as well.
It seems like there is nothing we can do. The programing developers can attempt to re-work their add-on devises or succumb to new terms of service at YouTube and quit working to make it a better place. VACATE YouTube and find a new best place to help out.
If YouTube wants to suck, there will other video sites to turn to. Google owns YouTube. If Google is getting greedy and we must be pawns, let's move on and let their revenues slip. Do not succumb to buying the content. Advertisers should pay for the site to operate not the visitors.
Yes , the update changes the tool drastically. Let's have a show of hands to see how many users like the redirects away from You Tube to Applian tech pages… only to get the usually useless messages.
I speak for the many "We hate redirects" it wastes our time.
So YouTube is trying to keep us from borrowring content. Ha! All of YouTube is borrowed content. To make my point and shorten my rant… "The wheel was borrowed", "the cooking pot" was borrowed. Without borrowing ideas we would be in the dark ages. So now, Applian is borrwoing the 'redirect'. It is a sucky stunt and looses friends.
How about using a popdown and asking us if we want to download the video or visit your other Applian collection of projects... let users do it by choice, not a trap door of redirects.
Dude, you obviously aren't very familiar with how the web works. They didn't WANT to do it this way. They HAD to do it this way. YouTube cut off the old way that we liked so much. I'm sure they did the best they could. If you really want to make your life less of a pain in the ass reply to my feature request thread and say 'yes' to it or add your own requests.
