I'm using Replay Music 6.00. Recording via the microphone input there is quite a lot of distortion. I don't have a line input on the PC. Is there any point in trying an audio to USB cable?

The program is not meant to record using a mic and that is probably why you do have the distortion. Try it with the other and see if it works better for you.
I was using a connection from an amplifier to the microphone input port and not a microphone itself.
In the list of available Input Sources is Microphone (VIA Hi Definition Audio).
Has anyone actually got this to work successfully? I saw a similar thread about the same issue.
Does a line into a USB port actually work? I haven't found a cheap amplifier to USB cable and don't really want to buy one to suck it and see.
Additionally, have you tried the universal audio for capturing?![]()
What/where is the universal audio? I don't see that as an option for Input Source.
For Windows Vista or above you need to use the win audio driver. If you do have something else such as stereo mix use it. For XP you would need to use the audio driver. For a mic these don't matter. What are you trying to record from (ie cassette or album)?
From an album.
Do try the above suggestions. If you continue to have an issue submit a ticket to tech support with complete details of what you have tried and include a log file.
