No sound capture with Windows 8

With RVC, what are the correct audio settings for Windows 8? No audio is visible on meters. Any suggestions?

If you have auto detect checked it should work for you. Do a short recording and then play it back to see. The VU meters won't move unless you have it set to.

Try to check if you're using auto detect. Also, do you get any error message?

I have found, as have others, that "Auto Detect" either doesn't work or doesn't work properly. (Even though the error message says to enable it.) I used the drop-down in 'Audio Recording Sources' to choose my soundcard manually and it works now.
