I am trying to figure out exactly how Replay Video Capture accesses the signal from DVDs without circumventing the DRMs or other copyright protection technologies. Does
anyone have any sources or info on how Replay Video Capture works and at what point it captures the signal from the DVD? This is important because depending on when it captures the signal from the DVD determines if it is circumventing a DRM.

Thanks!

It does screen capture, which past the point of authentication. Therefore so as long as the DVD plays on your computer, capture should work just fine because the DRM has been satisfied otherwise it would not play.

Exactly, basically - it records what it see's on your screen and picks up the audio from your sound card OR your mic (or both depending how you set it up)
