View Full Version : Rhapsody - Unable to Convert ".rad" Files

Hi,

I am trying to download songs off of Rhapsody. However, after it appears to have downloaded and tries to convert it (set for MP3 High-Quality 256 kbps), it finishes with an error message: "Complete with errors. Double click to view." When I double-click on it I get a very long window showing the whole process. I went ahead and pasted in the results (see below message), leaving out most of the intermediary downloading steps.

It definitely appears that the music is downloading using a ".rad" format which is not understood by the conversion process. Since I tried using other formats to convert and none of them work, I am inclined to believe the .rad format is going to need some other means to be converted. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Thank you for any assistance,

Mike

I am using Windows 7 64-bit, Replay Media Catcher 4.1.6.0 (I believe)

Why do you think that you can convert RAD files? They can be played by the Rhapsody player. But since RAD files use proprietary format and are encrypted, I can't suggest you any converter for RAD files.

Try to record from Rhapsody with Replay Music instead.

*.RAD-files are Real Audio Data files which are (decrypted and) played by rhapsody.exe when they are being streamed thru the internet. when you are offline, the software doesnt open the RAD files. this kind of "open RAD files" functionality is not implemented in rhapsody.exe unless you cr*ck/h*ck their software with something downloaded from the internet, patch or something. i am sure that such a thing exists.

but let's face it. even if you are able to convert the files (losslessly), RAD files are low quality, read here:

i like http://music.qriocity.com much better anyway! :o
