Size & quality of screen

OK, I realise that this could be a really dumb question but is the size and quality (ie resolution) of the screen being captured relevant? Does capturing on a full screen give a better resolution than capturing on a small segment of the screen?

The better the resolution (width and height), the more details you can save. However you need to make sure that your computer is powerful enough to record videos of high resolution.

I don't see much benefit from recording in full screen video (compared to a smaller player using the native resolution of the video).
