Hi All - New to the forum and the software.

Using AV8 to record streaming content off of a local radio station.

I have a problem where the recording is always garbled - sounds like I get every third word and often the recordings stop after 5 or so minutes. Sometimes they pick back up but never for the full schedule.

My system uses Windows Media Player.

Any suggestions on how to fix would be great.

What link are you capturing? Are you adding it off of the Media Guide? are you using audio or stream capture.

Hi Cheryl -

The radio station is WGMD and I looked them up in the media guide. Their URL is:

http://www.replay-video.com/user/redirect_station.php?id=6611&format=WMP

The recording format is "stream capture"

Does this answer your question?

Mike

Thanks. I'm testing it now. I have updated the database with a new URL. Please delete the show from AV and now try it again. Thanks.

Just to follow up - I tested this after Cheryl updated and it's working fine for me. Let us know how it goes! :)

Jeff & Cheryl - Thank you for your quick responses. After doing as instructed, the recording quality was much better but the recording still stopped at 2.5MB (way premature) - maybe 15 minutes of the three hours scheduled. Any suggestions to get the whole recording would be fantastic.

We would need to see a log file and have more info. Please do send us this info via tech support. Also, if you are converting the file let us know that as well.

I have the same problem as MJH1963. Sometimes it records fine, other times it skips words and sentences. A window pops up saying that the audio has been lost and it tries to reconnect. At one point my husband and I thought that the streams were too close together. (One ending at noon and one starting at noon) so we spread them out a few minutes to make sure they were trying to record at the same time. We moved the software from our desktop to our laptop which does only this and nothing else. It's doing the same thing. Some days all programs record fine but that's the exception. Most days...you get one and miss one or part of one. Once it messes up, you wont get a recording at all no matter the schedule. We have to restart the system to get it to correct itself. We turn the system off every day so it gets a clean restart and have increased the cache for the hard drive. Just don't know.
