when I hit the record button in the toolbar it just says waiting for audio, the equalizer just stays flat-lined

Hello again, I fixed the broken file prob by downloading the mergemp3 program. it works easy enough. Now all the sudden when I hit the record button in the toolbar it just says waiting for audio, the equalizer just stays flat-lined like it isn't hearing the audios.

Any ideas why?

When I try to record with Freecorder 4 I get "waiting for audio"
