Stretched Video when converting to DVD

I just purchased the full Applian Suite, and successfully downloaded a .flv video. I then wanted to burn this to DVD, so I selected that option in the convertor, with all default settings and the video when played is stretched vertically, rather than the original aspect ratio. Are there settings to adjust this, as this was the main purpose for which I bought the package. The flv file plays perfectly in the player on its own. Any help would be gratefully received.

What format did you convert the video TO before you attempted to convert it? Most DVD players won't play FLV files, so you need to make sure you select the proper format to convert to before attempting to burn the dvd
