powerpoint play of 'movie'

i have downloaded the FLV file and converted it with the replay converter to be seen in windows media player. I then load it into the PowerPoint to play. the file plays in windows media player fully but when i try to play it in the PowerPoint program, it is black and no image is seen. i don't have the newer versions of PowerPoint, but other files do work in this version. any help to fix this?
