LOL Yeah I occasionally use Replay Media Catcher on XTube but starting yesterday, Replay Media Catcher won't record videos from that site.

It just says "Performing extended title search" and then "Complete with errors. Double click to view" with a red - circle icon. Nothing is recorded.

A friend tested out the site with his copy of Replay Media Catcher and confirmed it.

Hey there - I tested this myself, and had the same issue. I'll let our programmer know, in the even he's unaware of it.

Thank you

Hi,
Xtube has changed their streaming format so that all streams are now copy protected. Sites will often change they way they stream their videos and we have no control over this. Unfortunately, this is a protected site and Replay Media Catcher cannot capture from this.
In the case of the encrypted stream, I'd recommend using screen capture technology instead. Replay Video Capture can record whatever is playing on your computer's screen:

Howdy :)

I spoke with our RMC Department, and it appears that xtube has changed the way they stream and are now protected, unfortunately.

From my understanding, there are plenty of other sites out there of that nature that are not protected, and work just as fine. I'm not able to recommend any of them, but do a google search for 'sites like xtube' and i'm sure you'll find plenty.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Jeff; Shellie,

I thought XTube might have changed something, but not something so drastic. Well, what a bummer! But like I said before, I don't use RMC on XTube a lot, just occasionally (I don't use RMC exclusively on porn sites! LOL), so it's cool (well, it's not cool that RMC can't be used on XTube, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it, and RMC still rocks -- I love using it to capture .mp4 videos (I not paying Apple for QuickTime Pro!)).

Thanks for checking the issue and info!

xtube seems to be using HTTP .flv streams, so there should be no problem recording them. You can get HTTP .flv streams from the cache of your web-browser (RMC -> Cache Browser). Or you can change the Settings by adding

publicvideo.xtube.com
FLV
to the list of secure web-sites.

Just go to "Tools" -> "Settings" -> "HTTP Download Tweaks" and under "Streaming media from the following secure web-sites will be recorded not downloaded" hit the "Add" button. Then add the following:

Hi stream-recorder.com,

Nice! Your suggestion worked, I added the site URL and file extension to RMC and it can again record videos from XTube. I tried looking at RMC browser cache, but Chrome isn't listed and there's nothing there when I look at IE8 cache, either in RMC or IE8's Temp Internet File.

Thanks for the tip!
