NET framework error on installation

Hi, when I try to install the latest version of replay media catcher it says "this setup requires the .net framework version 2.0.50727" and then asks if I'd like to go to the microsoft website to download it. I've already installed the latest NET framework and I notice 2.0.50727 appears to be 7 years old.

I am running x86 on windows xp with a new windows install.

Can you please advise me on how to fix this problem.

I've just tried to install Replay Media Catcher and I get the .NET framework error mentioned above. I searched the forum and this thread is the only mention I found of this problem. The Applian Director installed and runs but the Replay Media Catcher won't. Help?
