Burns video to CD-R but notDVD-R

When I try to burn video files the burnwizard tells me the drive is empty if I load DVD-R but is OK with CD-R. I can't burn longer files on CD-R, but the quality is good.

Are the DVDs new DVDs or? Have you tried a different DVD to see if that works for you? Have you tried a +?
