Recently my installation of RMC 4 crashes upon startup; before the RMC window appears, this Windows error appears:
Replay Media Catcher has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. When I try to reinstall from the latest RCATSetup.exe, the installation stops partway through with this error before rolling back:
Error 1001: InstallUtiLib.dll:ClrCreateManagedINstance (hr=0x80070002): The system cannot find the file specified.

The above is on a Vista machine. I also tried a new install on a Win2k machine; in that case the install went OK, but upon running RMC I get the Windows error
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Unable to load DLL 'uxtheme.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E).and then, after RMC appears, the RMC error
Unexpected Error
Could not load driver appliand. This can happen if product has previously been uninstalled and the reinstalled again before rebooting the machine.RMC doesn't crash and continues to run, but it kills my internet connection for all apps (similar to what RMC3 had been doing recently) until I uninstall (not just until I reboot). (Note: on this Win2k machine, it's a new install, so the problem of not having been uninstalled before reinstalling, as in the error message, shouldn't apply.)

Any ideas? Between my two machines, I can't record anything. Many thanks.

Edited to add: I have Avira antivirus on both computers: full version on Vista, and limited free version on Win2k. I believe I've tried disabling it in both cases. Is Avira known to have conflicts with RMC 4?

I was getting the same error so I deleted my Applian directory and removed all references from the registry (I backed everything up, of course). Now I am getting another error.

Error 1001: Exception occurred while initializing the installation:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'file://C:\Program Files\Applian Technologies\Replay Media Catcher 4\ainstaller.dll' or one of its
dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

When I restore everything I get the original error. Help! I'm desperate for a fix before my trial runs out or I'm gonna use Net Transport. BTW, I'm on Windows 7 32-bit.
