WMV to API Conversion

Hi all,

I have just downloaded WM14 today and need to convert a wmv file to api hopefully using the converter. There are three selections against api:

MPEG4
MSMPEG4
DivX

I have tried to convert the wmv file using all three versions. The first two said there was an error at the start of the 2nd pass. The DivX was able to convert, but would only play the sound an no pictures when I put it onto Windows Media Player and another application that I have.

Apologies if this has been posted before on the forum. Kids are going mad here & I'm struggling to search it properly. I'm desperate. Any help very much appreciated.

I have tried again and this time the MPEG4 worked and played without pictures. MSMPEG4 worked after the first pass and played with pics. It went to the destination file and has .wmv as the file name. Will it actually be an AVI? Sorry guys, no idea what I'm doing but really need the conversion!

Can someone, please confirm that I am right?
