Hello,
On Windows XP Pro and using RMC 3.11b, I will SOMETIMES get files that look like:
80a897_a8sd7872389741.mp3~
The strange thing about this is that it happens about 10% of the time and when it does, I can rename the file by removing the ~ symbol and the file is properly read by Windows and will show the mp3 tags properly, however the filename prefix is still the same.
I have noticed that during the file download, the filename is:
80a897_a8sd7872389741.mp3
Then it completes the download, then its checked with MusicDNS then for some strange reason, the file extension is changed to .mp3~ so the file now looks like:
80a897_a8sd7872389741.mp3~
And the file is NOT renamed using the mp3 tags, however the mp3 tags are in the file and can be revealed by changing the .mp3~ to .mp3 ................... very strange!
I am NOT playing the file or doing anything with it; its just RANDOM!
Anyone know what the deal is with .mp3~ files? My guess is that its some sort of a temporary naming convention that does not finish properly.
