I have a question about recordings

I record the Stern Show for six hours a day with splits every hour. Sometimes there is a five minute segment that I would like to keep as a mp3 file. Is there any way to rip a smaller mp3 from the bigger one? Thanks in advance if you understand my question.

Use the goldwave software available at goldwave . com You'll also have to download the lame_enc.dll file (just put it in the directory with the goldwave files). I think the trial version is fully functional, but I bought it because it really is useful. Hope this helps.

You can try to use Replay Media Splitter.

I don't think you will need Goldwave. It can be replaced with freeware MP3DirectCut and freeware Mp3splt. Both programs can split MP3 files losslessly. For other editing features you can use freeware Audacity.
