I have a 1.21GB .FLV file that I am wanting to convert to MPEG-2 (good quality). Whenever I have tried to convert these large .FLV files before, I have often wondered if it's going to take 8 hours to convert due to the slow progress, and so I have never followed the conversion through to the end. How long should it take a .FLV file of that size to convert to MPEG-2? Also, when it is converted, should the video quality be just about the same as the original .FLV file?

Thanks for your time. BTW - I own Replay Converter 3.35.

I believe the video quality will be just as good except if you lowered your bit rate. just not sure about the time it wil take to convert though.

You might want to upgrade to the newer version of the program as it does have some improvements.

What's the number for the latest version?

This page indicates that what I would be buying is version 3, and I have version 3.35 already.

Also, do I have to pay full price each and everytime an upgrade is made, or do I get a discount?? I just purchased my Replay Converter not too long ago.

Our latest version is 3.6. It should be a free update for you depending on when you purchased. Please uninstall and reboot prior to installing.

YOUR BEST BET TO BE MOST SUCCESSFUL HERE WILL BE TO NOT DECREASE BIT RATE AND LOWER QUALITY BUT ONCE CAPTURED USE 'CONVERT TO FILE' AND THEN S:)UBSEQUENTLY USE THE CONVERTED FILES TO BURN YOUR DVD.
