View Full Version : Cannot convert files from BBC iplayer with Replay Media Catcher

The title pretty much sums it up:

Using Replayer MC 3.11 I can record iplayer "listen again" radio streams to flv, and play those flv's back using the applian flv player. I can't seem to convert them to mp3 though (which was the best bit about Replay A/V).

The Replay MC "Extract MP3 from FLV" menu command says that "There were no MP3 frames found - Use the Converter Tool and convert to an audio format"

The Replay Converter just runs for a few seconds and says "0 of 1 files converted" - the important line from the log file for Replay Converter seems to be:
Tue Dec 22 8:53:56 AM [flv @ 00AF1E34]Unsupported audio codec (a)
Video stream is mandatory!

Obviously there is no video stream as it's recorded flv radio.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Chris.

The converter tool within Media Catcher cannot handle these files. Try using Replay Converter (http://applian.com/replay-converter/index.php).

The second part of my comment above deals with using replay converter.

Replay Converter complains (in the log files) that there's no video content when converting from FLV to MP3

Please open a support ticket (http://applian.com/help/index.php?pid=newticket&user=&department=33) in the Replay Converter department. Thank you!

It all makes sense now.

I started filling in a support ticket but when I looked at version numbers, I realised that I was using Replay Converter v2 which was still installed on my machine.

Once I found Replay Converter v3, converting FLV to MP3 worked fine.

Thanks

Chris.
