Problem with Freecorder Toolbar in Windows XP: waiting for audio

Help. I installed Freecorder and am using the toolbar in Windows XP. I hit record, and it brings up a box, "waiting for audio" while the radio is streaming. It never shows that it's recording and it never records. ?? The answer given in this thread to another question like mine didn't make sense to me.

Make sure that you click Record Audio immediately after opening your browser - before going to the site that you want to record from and playing the audio. Also, I am moving this to the Freecorder Toolbar section:

When I try to record with Freecorder 4 I get "waiting for audio"
