This site has some availabel demos (free).
I can't get MEDIA CATCHER to see them.
Can someone tell me how to do it... or what will grab them?

I tested a random video on this site, and was able to capture it with Media Catcher. It was an SWF file you. You will need an SWF player to view the video.

Tasha:
I thought things were working fine..but
MG only records the first 20 seconds of any of the videos.
This isn't the restriction on the demo as it is only 20 seconds of any video no matter how long it is.
Please check this out and send me your thoughts please?

Hi Bob,

I see that you have opened a ticket as well. Have you played back the files to be sure that they are not 75%? Media catcher often captures faster than real time. Are you getting any kind of error? Also can you send me a direct link to a specific video you are having problems with? Thanks!

Yes...I have submitted a ticket, but if I can get the answer faster here..all the better...
Please try it this way specifically to do it the same way I did (several at a time)
Go to www.itdvds.com
Go to Windows Vista Administration
Choose USER INTERFACE TOUR
Choose PERSONALIZE WINDOWS VISTA 1
Choose PERSONALIZE WINDOWS VISTA 2
Choose WINDOWS VISTA EDITIONS
(the first 4 free selections)
(Be sure you get them all downloading at one time)

MC'er seems to download them all, but when I play them back (on several playback devices) they still only go about :20 seconds and stop.
I tried them one at a time (start one and let it finish) and that seems to work, but that defeats the purpose of setting up a list yes?

Hi Bob,

I did exactly as you suggested, and I got all videos in their entirety. Could this be a connection issue on your end?

Just one more test before I give up?
I have 2 captured videos at:
www.BobTaylorProductions.com/flashtest
Can you play both of them on your end and tell me how long each one plays?
Thanks!
Bob

Taylor, all you have to do is; click on the link and, it should down the video file to your hard drive. (if you have a download manager installed).

They just appeared as still screen-shots for me, and the video never started.

I then right-clicked the video, and realized they were not coded to play automatically, I clicked on "play" and was able to play each one. Can you give me an idea as to how long each one should be? I don't want to sit at my computer counting the seconds without first knowing if it will be seconds, minutes, or hours i'm counting. :)

Another question, out of curiosity, why do you need to know the time of each video's playback?

Thanks

Depending on where you are capturing from you can adjust the settings to capture smaller files.
Tools>>settings
Highlight Capture HTTP streams and click "plug-in Options"
Change the 400kb to about 200kb. Really glad you got this working!
