Please make RMC remember my preferred view

I prefer not to have the folders and tabs on display so I unticked the menu items "Show Folders" and "Show Tabs" when I first set up RMC 5. However, after each upgrade they have reappeared and I've had to hide them again. My other settings survive intact, so why can't it remember these settings when upgrading?

Having said that, since updating to 5.0.1.7 it keeps opening up in thumbnail view instead of list view. Previously it has always remembered that I have it in list view. I can't see anything in Settings to choose which view to use by default, so perhaps this is something that could be added?

Also, it would be nice if my column widths were remembered as well please!
