View Full Version : Youtube trouble again.

I recently upgraded to 5 when I realized 4 wasn't working anymore. Once upgraded it worked fine again. Then the recent update came up and I donwn loaded that. Now it doesn't work with youtube again.

Here's a link to something I was able to capture before the update and now it won't work:

Any help would be appreciated. Is there something in settings I need to change or are you working on the problem already? Thanks in advance.

What operating system are you running?

Are you able to get a video recording, but no audio? Or alternatively, get an audio recording with no video?

Hey -

Downloads here ok. Make sure you have YouTube Download method set to Raw in your settings. Settings > Internet > HTTP Adv.

What operating system are you running?

Are you able to get a video recording, but no audio? Or alternatively, get an audio recording with no video?

Windows 7. I'm unable to get video or audio to that link (or any others on youtube for that matter). It worked before the update, of course it might have stopped working before then and I didn't know it. I hadn't used it after the initial upgrade and test run which captured fine.

I have everything set to default so Raw is selected crs. Do you have anything other boxes clicked or are you set at default as well? Hopefully this is just some setting issue that I don't understand.

Hey -

In the settings > internet > Monitor - if you are using WinPcap do you have your network card selected correctly.

Or if you are using the network monitor is it installed (if you uninstalled RMC4 then it could have uninstalled it as they share the network monitor). Recommend setting is to now use Winpcap so install that if necessary.

I have WinPcap selected and I didn't make any changes from when it worked to when it stopped working. If there is an issue with my network card I don't know how to check that kind of thing. I'm not a computer guru by any means. I just know that 4 quit working, switched to 5 it was working, now its not working again. haha

I just uninstalled 5 and then reinstalled it, still can't capture that link or any others. I installed WinPcap the first time I downloaded 5 so this time I couldn't check the box to download it since it must be installed already now.

Thank you for giving me things to look for to try and fix it crs.

Np. You should lodge a support request and they will look into it further for you using your debug logs.

But yeah, I can't capture anything on youtube and its quite frustrating. I'd been using 4 for quite a while and enjoyed it, worked great. Really hoping somebody can help get this working again, especially after it started working again after paying for the upgrade and then having it stop again...sigh

mine don't work either, i'm on windows 8.1, a few days ago i upgraded applian suite and catcher and winpcap, changed to raw, still does work on youtube. works grrrrrrrrrrrrreat every else, just not on youtube.

records the pre-adbvertisements, but not the main videos.

....

i uninstalled media catcher 599. then reinstalled old version media catcher 3.11

media catcher 3.11 works fine on windows 8.1 recording from youtube.

Apart from the above advice on settings,
BE AWARE the 'STOP/START' switch is BACK TO FRONT!!!
Red STOP is really START.
Green START is really STOP.
So with the switch showing STOP, it records off Youtube OK!!
Somethings for the Techs to Look at!!

That's frustrating indeed. With mine I didn't change anything or do anything to cause it to stop working, it just doesn't anymore. The initial download of 5 worked fine, captured that youtube link I posted before. Then later in the week I start up 5 and it doesn't capture it anymore, even with the latest update. I'm sure it can get sorted out in time but until then I'm stuck. Youtube is the only place I use this program.

Hey -

It's not really how you describe.

Its a toggle switch just like you have on your phone.

When its the green "START" - that means you have to click it to start monitoring for downloads. Then when its red "STOP" - that means when you click it it will stop monitoring for downloads.

Tried reinstalling again as per instruction, still not working. Is there a way to go back to version 5.0.0.97 to see if it starts working again that way? Been unable to get this program to function correctly for quite a while now, bummed. Hopeful more help from tech is on the way..

Sent my debug log over the weekend, hopeful for some kind of resolution soon. Its still not working and my frustration level with this situation is growing steadily...

Update:

I have been in touch with customer support concerning this issue for the past several weeks. They did a great job trying to resolve the issue but unfortunately a solution was never found.

RMC5 worked ok for about a week until the first update arrived, then it started having trouble. When I compare that to my RMC4 experience, which had worked nearly flawlessly for years on this same computer, I find myself very disappointed with the whole situation.

Glad to read that it works for some but I'm one of the customers that didn't get so lucky, and I'm not the only one having this particular problem.

Hopefully the bugs and kinks will get worked out over time and some new solutions will be found. For now RMC5 is just a neat little shortcut on my desktop that used to lead to something cool and useful, when it worked properly...
