really needing help with getting telecorder working

Hello everyone ... I'm hoping someone out there can help me with getting the telecorder working. I'm desperately needing it for tomorrow morning.

I have the telecorder on my old laptop - it worked great.

I installed it on my new laptop and it's not working. Yes, skype was closed and not in the task list when i installed it.

I'm using Skype version is 5.5.59.124 and Telecorder version is 1.2.0.8. I downloaded the klite codec as recommended but have no clue what i'm supposed to do with it from here.

Now I'm told I should try the Skype beta?? How do I go from the version above to the beta?

I'm non-techy in this way> I got the telecorder because it was simple to use.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this working?????

you will find the beta on the Skype.com site. Just select it. Make sure Telecorder is closed when doing this. Now, give it a try.

I removed everything - skype and the telecorder.

I installed the telecorder. Then I reinstalled Skype - the beta.

It's still not working. :-(
