ability to record over VPN

I read a thread about 9 months ago about implementing the ability to record over VPN. Is this happening any time soon?

I use VPNs a lot when recording. Not sure whether there should be any additional support of VPNs.

Also note that some routers support VPNs (usually OpenVPN) out of the box. Sometimes you can also install third party firmware onto your router.
