Default toolbar update message - again and again, but does not update

Lately, I get a message about a new version of the toolbar. I click OK to update, but nothing happens.
I tried to download and install the latest version, but the update message keeps coming back.
What do I need to do to update it?

    Thanks
    Ron

    Hi Ron

If you go to our website,applian.com, you can download the latest version directly from there.

I downloaded and installed the latest version (no idea what version it is because it only states version 4).
I still have the same problem with the popup messages.

I have the same message. It keeps asking if I want to update the Freecorder Toolbar. I click "yes" and nothing happens.

    Hi Ronand PDP

If you're having issues with the freecorder toolbar, please try the following for me:

Please uninstall, reboot and reinstall Freecorder from the link below:
    http://www.applian.com/freecorder4/download.php (NON US Customers)
    http://www.applian.com/freecorder5/ (USA Based customers)

Also, here is a link to properly uninstall Freecorder:
    http://www.applian.com/freecorder4/s....php#uninstall

Please make sure that you have administrative rights and that you disable any anti virus software you are running while installing Freecorder. (This is very important)

Lastly, please make sure that Freecorder toolbar is enabled in your Firefox browser.

Let me know if this helps! :-)

I think I'm just going to post on every thread that seems to be about my problem.
I have AVG and Avast, and was running them when I downloaded Freecorder, so maybe this is my problem. But I have no idea how to disable them! =[

Figured out how to disable Avast and AVG. Done everything anyone's suggested. Going round in circles. Just about to give up.
