Up front, I have :
- a clean, uptodate, Windows 7 64bit ultimate setup, no previous RMC installed
- RMCX64.Setup.msi* (Replay Media Catcher v.4.0.19)
Steps
1. Install
2. At the end : Error1001
Error 1001: An exception occured in the OnAfterInstall event handler of xm. ->> Applian driver installation failed: There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.
Please uninstall any existing version of the software, reboot yourmachine and try again.
3. Install 'roll-back'
4. Regedit
5. Changed: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlNe tworkMaxNumFilters from 8 to 14 (also see FAQ)
6. Installed again, now the install went fine
7. Launched Replay Media Catcher
8. Error : Could not load driver appliand. This can happen if product has previously
been uninstalled and then reinstalled again before rebooting the machine.
9. Reboot
10.Launched RMC again
11.Same error, see 8
12.Launched Your Uninstaller: uninstalled RMC, incl possible registry entries
13.Reboot PC
14.Installed RMC again (note: destination folder was/is empty)
15.Error 1001
16.PC OFF and ON (not just a reboot)
17.Explorer: search for 'Applian*.*' on C:\ (nothing found)
18.Checked out: \Program files, \Program Files (x86), \Program Data - nothing to be found
Continued with possible solution as found in thread
"I can not uninstall / repair Replay Media Catcher 4.09 - Error 1001", viz:
19.Regedit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE - no Applian entry
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE - 1 entry, deleted the entry
21.Search for Applian (highest level in Registry 'computer' - except for some urls entries, nothing to be found
21.PC OFF and ON
22.Install RMCX64.setup.msi - Error1001
-
This error1001 seems to be a regular occurrance.
Q: Now what ?
TIA
-
* this is also with the .exe file and the previous version of RMC (v.4.0.17)
