Default Please select a conversion setting and try again

    Hi there,

Please feel free to assume I'm a complete fool, but I don't seem to be able to work out how to convert FLV files into MP3s using the "Convert" option in Replay Media Catcher 4.

When I try, I get the message "Please select a conversion setting and try again" but I can't really understand what I'm supposed to be doing.

In RMC v3 you had a list of available files and then you selected a new format from the drop-down menu. But in v4 I don't see how you tell the software to convert FLV into MP3.

Obviously, I can still use RMC v3 or Replay Converter, but it would be great if I could convert files without having to open another software package.

Thanks in anticipation of some simple, step-by-step instructions.

(PS. I have downloaded the latest version).

Just select a conversion preset first in the main Windows, and then launch the Converter from the Tools menu. That's it.

Also note that if your FLV files contain MP3 audio tracks, you can extract MP3s from FLVs without any conversion (losslessly). And if your FLV files contain AAC tracks, you can extract them to m4a or m4b files (compatible with iPod, iPhone,...). See the Extraction presets...

Thanks for responding to my plea for help.

Sorry, I think it need to be a bit more step by step for me than that.

Literally, just assume I know nothing at all. "Select a conversion preset" doesn't mean anything to me. Let's say I have opened the Conversions Settings window from the Tools menu. What next?

I have tried selecting "Mp3 Standard Quality" and clicking Save, but whatever I select, I alwways get the same error message: "Please select a conversion setting and try again".

    Thanks again.

Change conversion settings in the main window first:

    Then try to convert.

See the Replay Media Catcher 4 User Guide for more.

Okay, now I get it! And it does see ridiculously obvious now you've pointed it out, but I simply hadn't noticed the drop-down list in v4 - probably because I'm so used to v3 and it wasn't there before.

Many thanks for clearing this up for me.
