Default Technical question: Does Replay Music intercepts music stream and recodes it onto MP3?

    Hi everyone,

I've just downloaded the demo version of Replay Music and it seems to work pretty well.

However, I've got a question about how it actually functions (I'm not after any trade secrets!).

I listen to Spotify a lot and I know it transmits its stream in Ogg Vorbis - so, does Replay Music "intercept" this stream and recode it into MP3? Or does it monitor the audio output from the sound card and encode the analogue stream as MP3?

Obviously, the latter would result in a (possibly slight) loss in quality.

I've searched forums and Googled the topic, but with no result.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks

    Default Re: Technical question

Oops - I think I may have answered my own question.

Looking at "settings", it seems that RM takes its stream from the audio driver.

    So, before sound card processing.
