Default Problems playing .mts files when Replay Converter installed

When installed any .mts file I attempt to play in Windows Media Player gets nothing but crackling sound in audio portion of file. Once I uninstall Replay Converter, the files play fine. Hardware - HP Pavilion DV8T-1200, Windows 7 - 64bit, NVidia HD Audio, IDT HD Audio CODEC.

I have recommended that he try a different player and the files do work with VLC Player. He is downloading a codec pack to see if that corrects the issue with windows media player and Windows 7.

I have the same problem. Did the VLC player and downloading a coded pack solve the problem?
