    Default Channel 4 Recording

Can anybody manage to record this:

    http://www.channel4.com/programmes/faith-school-menace

It seems to pick up the adverts at the beginning but not the main 47 minute feature.

I have tried 3.11, 4.05 and 4.06 in various modes.

Thanks for the reply which I appreciate must be the official line. Can anybody else send me a PM about how they may have solved this?

Unfortunately I was not able to record that stream due to it's encryption.

Good news, however - I WAS able to record this stream using Replay Video Capture, another program which we offer. Let me explain the difference between the two:

The way Replay Video Recorder works is it does not record what is actually playing on your screen, in fact if you want to think of it this way, it does not \"Record\" at all. What it is really doing is capturing URL\'s from these streams and then downloading the video using the URL.

Now, granted, there is not ONE program out there that can record everything. This is the same with WMR as well, so we created WM Capture which works pretty much oppositely of WMR. It records what's on your screen, online...offline, whatever you choose to record. If you have NOT yet tried out/purchased RV Capture, I suggest you check it out here: http://applian.com/replay-video-capture/

Together, using these two programs together you can record pretty much anything on your computer, or just actions from your computer desktop (such as dvd movies in windows media player, etc).

    I hope this helps. :-)

Thank you for trying to assist. In fact I have the entire Applian suite so of course had already used RVC for this tv programme. However I have never liked RVC and only use it as a last resort for the following reasons:

    1. It occupies the pc for the whole time you are recording. Anything you do on the screen is recorded.

    2. I use a dual screen (extended desktop) set up and RVC seems to get confused from which screen it is recording.

So I either have to fire up an old laptop and dedicate it to RVC or undo my dual screen and do nothing else for the hour.

Eight years have gone by and I still have that problem. DVR mode and buitlt-in browser have come but 4 On-demand still seems to beat them. Is it me missing something? The best I can get even with the built-in browser is a video screen with the description at the bottom but no video - not even a still.
Has anyone managed to download 4OD without resorting to RVC?
    I have V6, Windows 10
    Thanks

You brought up an old thread. You are going to want to use either DVR or my preferred method of using Replay Video Capture for this. The stream is encrypted. Thanks.
