If you are using XP you might need to turn your hardware acceleration off. The directions in the settings direct you as to how to do this. Also, try playing the video with a different player.
I tried that and no luck getting any picture during playback of the Dvd to capture. Dont know what to do next. Any ideas?
Some DVD players including Windows Media Player, PowerDVD and others do not allow access to the portion of the screen where the DVD is played (some but not all Windows XP computers). Disabling hardware acceleration does not work and some of these programs may not even function when this is done. Replay Video Capture and WM Capture will record a black window in this case. The only solution to this problem is to use a DVD Player that does not block the screen. For example, the \"AV DVD Player Morpher\" which can be downloaded from the link below

i did that and dvd player morpher will play the dvd and i recorded the screen but cannot play it back in the windows media player. what next?
It should play it back for you without a problem. Please try it one more time. Do a small test recording to make sure it is working for you.
Still no luck in playback-can i convert the file to a different format?
?It works when i capure a video off of itunes.
