At least since upgrading to Replay A/V 8.76 (on XP SP3), every second refresh of the Windows Task Manager shows the ReplayAV.exe process using 10-25% of my system's CPU. For example, a series of refreshes gave the following CPU %:
"14, 0, 16, 0, 17, 0, 02, 0, 86, 0, 66, 0, 27, 0, 25, 0, 13, 0...".

This usage seems high to me when Replay A/V isn't doing anything.
