Exclamation CBC As It Happens: It is so available!

Why was As It Happens removed from the Media Guide? This is an excellent program. They've changed the format. It used to be just "the story of the day" but they expanded it to include several stories. When this happened, somebody at Applian apparently decided the podcast was discontinued. I've written but not response. When I do search, Media Guide reports it has found nothing. When I enter the XML I get a warning that the program is no longer available (despite the fact that current episodes are listed). Hey, Cheryl! What's the problem here?

Do you have a URL or a link I can check for this. It could be that it was removed as it wasn't streaming anymore. Let me have a link and we can look into it.

    Cheryl,

Here's the URL for the CBC As It Happens podcast:
    http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/includes/asithappens.xml

I entered the XML in Replay AV manually and it is working fine.

FYI: All CBC podcast URLs are listed on this page:
    http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/index.html
Note: The listing has three tabs: Regional, Arts and Music, and News and Current Affairs. As It Happens is listed under the News and Current Affairs tab.

For CBC podcasts - for my palm or ubuntu I use http://www.cbc.ca/podcasts.opml.

I am not sure if mediapacks are built on an opml type process - however if you read the opml on the a browser, you can get all the cbc xml and program description by parsing them out.

Alternatively, there is http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/pastpodcasts.html which produces a nesting recent history

Sorry to follow up - I have taken the CBC opml in a browser and have used the xml conversion in Excel 2007 - It has a COMPLETE list of the CBC program names, their homesite, their podcast xml, their icon jpg and a description of the program in an excel row for each. In some cases, the description will not be visible in the cell of the spreadsheet because it exceeds 255 characters - but is invisible in the formula line when you choose that cell.

If you would like me to send the spread sheet, please email me so I can reply.
