RMC is not showing duplicates.

I have lots of songs in my recordings and RMC is just adding duplicates to them. It used to show duplicates by showing a small number after the tag but the new
3.0 version does not. How can I spot the duplicates?

The people at applian say that it doesn't show duplicates. All I know is that it used to in the old version.

How is it naming the duplicate file?

Just the name of the song ma4

So you have two of the same file names? I don't believe it is possible for two files to have the exact same name.

The name of the songs will be exactly the same but one will be mp3 and the other m4a. This is what shows up in My Recordings.
