Default will wave option give best audio quality?

i was surprised to see that higher than 128 kbps bitrates still have not been provided when converting a streamed recording, and curiously when people ask about it they are not getting responses.

if i select audio wave as the format to convert to, will the result be better than 128 kbps mp3, or is the 128kbps limit because the actual capture is limited to that rate?

and are there plans to provide a higher sample / bitrate as you used to have in earlier versions?

    regards,

    les
