    Default Recording YouTube movies?

    Hello!

I'm having trouble recording a YouTube movie. I've tried what was suggested in the stickies with no luck. But, just FYI, I can record a YouTube video off my own channel (a video I uploaded) with no problems even leaving the https.

I'm trying to record a movie that I bought off YouTube so I can watch it later. I have tried removing the "s" in the https but it automatically goes back to the https. It seems to record just fine and gives a file size about 1.9gig but I get an error that it can't be played back and I've tried several players. I've got a couple different errors when I've tried different downloads (which I found a little odd). One was I think a header error and one was a sound playback error but in either case, no video would start not even with VLC player.

Is it just not possible to record paid for movies off YouTube with Media Catcher? If not, I'll quit wasting my time trying Thanks!

Unfortunately, PAID youtube movies (such as the interview) are generally ENCRYPTED so they cannot be recorded with RMC

You CAN use Replay Video Capture to record them in HD with no problem, but that's going to be your best bet!

    Hope this helps

Thanks, Jeff! That is what I ended up doing. It worked fairly well except I recorded it while I was away so now I have to use the splitter program to take the unneeded stuff off the end because it stopped recording when it timed out and not when the movie was over Thanks!
