    Default Recording Stream the World

    Good afternoon,

    I've got a VLC "playlist" (save the text below with .PLS extension) that I'd like to schedule to record. You open the PLS in VLC Media Player and it streams the audio. You can switch between any of the 3 items that show up in the list in VLC and you get the same audio.

    I've tried putting each of the URLs below in - no luck.
    Also tried partial URL http://3143.live.streamtheworld.com:80 still no luck

    Is there any way I can use one of these URLs to record for 1 hour a day?

    [playlist]
    File1=http://3143.live.streamtheworld.com:80/HUGHIRAAC_SC
    File2=http://3143.live.streamtheworld.com:3690/HUGHIRAAC_SC
    File3=http://3143.live.streamtheworld.com:443/HUGHIRAAC_SC
    Title1=HUGHIRAAC_SC
    Title2=HUGHIRAAC_SC-Bak
    Length1=-1
    NumberOfEntries=3
    Version=2

    Use the URL Finder in the program to find a good URL. If you are not able to find one using it then it probably can't be captured using Direct Download and you would need to use audio capture. If you continue to have an issue let us know the main page for what you are trying to capture and the call letters for the station.

    Cheryl,
    I used URL finder and it came up with this when I played the PLS in VLC
    http://3143.live.streamtheworld.com:80/HUGHIRAAC_SC
    Tried putting this URL in Replay Radio and using all 4 options, nothing recorded.
    This isn't a radio station (over they air) it's called Duane FM and "online" radio station. It plays 24/7.

    I'm hoping to schedule it to record from 9:00 - 10:00 PM Mon-Fri.

    Thanks,

    Alibertarian

    That URL does work using Direct Download to record. I loaded it into the program. Selected Direct Download and it captured the music without an issue. You do not hear it when doing a recording. Please delete what you have and try it again. Thanks.
