What is WM Browser

Just out of curiosity, what is the "WM Browser" program installed with Video capture? And how is it used?

WM Browser is a reduced version of Internet Explorer which can be accessed from Tools, Miscellaneous. It’s main use is to run the Background mode instead of using newer versions of Internet Explorer
that might not work in background mode.
