Default RMC 5.0.1.24 produces tons of mp4 fragnments

When downloading from https://ftth2014.solidtango.com/vide...nas-birgersson password <please ask> I get tons of files of the type Seg1-Fragxx.mp4 and one manifest-f4m.flv file. Recording of the .flv file ends with "error" in the icon display and with "complete with errors" in the list display at a point of time during recording of the first mp4 files. Mp4 file recording goes on for the whole duration of the video.

Q1 May I stop recording when the flv file is finished?
Q2 What does the flv error mean? (obviously the displayed duration of the video is wrong)
    Q3 How to avoid it?
Q4 What to do with the mp4-files?
Q5 If redundant how to avoid recording them?
Q6 Alternatively, how to possibly join the mp4-files into one large one?

Thanks in advance for your support.

I also have this problem. In addition, it seems to be capturing commercials coming through my cable line. No idea why, I don't even have cable.
