Default Sound quality / audio settings

Hi Folks. Bought ReplayMusic a couple of years ago and only use it occasionally. Am wondering what the best settings are for output quality. For once I am recording a clip where I want best quality audio. All my recordings are from mp3 sources output to ReplayMusic as WAV. I have just burnt a CD and played on a high end hi-fi and the quality is poor. Went back and checked my other recordings and they are all poor. A bit warbling as I would describe it! The one clip I am now concentrating on and testing, (over and over!), is mp3 source. Don't know rate but sounds clean so probably at least 192. Ultimately I want to get the clip to audio CD. Can anyone suggest the cleanest way, (from a sound point of view), to get there without loss. Thanks CG
