Most downloaded files used to name correctly now almost never.
I upgraded to the latest version and except for Youtube files the rest are generic names like chunklist, playlist, the name of the site but not the name of the specific video or audio. In "naming rules" all boxes are on. Is there a trick to name files correctly?

Each stream is different. Many are going to name with what they have "behind" the scenes and with a name we don't see. For these we can't do anything but suggest you rename them. Also, go into settings and select the counterclockwise arrow icon to revert back to default settings. Clean out your browser cache. Reboot your computer. See if that helps.

I meant to reply to this sooner. I tried doing the "reset" of RMC. There are a number of settings in the program that, for me, have been a bit tricky. After I did the reset I couldn't get any recording to work as before. I ended up doing a complete windows restore from a restore point. It still doesn't name as it used to but at least can capture a few streams as before. I still suspect there's a setting for naming that is wrong but no idea what that is.

If you are doing stream downloading then the site you are recording from is naming them. If you are using audio capture then you set it up in the settings under Naming Rules.
