I just upgraded from 2.8. 3.-- doesn't appear to have the feature where it gives me a more detailed menu before starting a conversion. That was where I could change, say, a 624x464 AVI to a 320x240 MP4 to play on my Palm Treo phone. I supposed the iPod choice does this automatically, but not at the resolution I want. Thanks, Fred

Nevermind. Found the new way of doing it in the manual.

Editing Conversion Parameters
You can customize the parameters used in any predefined video or audio conversion. Here's how:

From the main screen, click Convert to Video File or Convert to Audio File.
Right-click a conversion, and choose Edit Target Format Properties from the pop-up menu. The Edit Target Properties dialog appears:

Change any of the parameters and click OK.

Note: New with version 3.1 is the Volume setting. This lets you adjust the final output volume of the converted file.
