Hello and thank you in advance for any assistance that can be provided on this.

After jumping through several hoops to get access to the streaming video for this summers Olympics (subscribing to cable service that has MSNBC and CNBC, I am in the USA and don't have access to the BBC streams) I was disappointed to find that full screen video has a large banner ad at the top which shrinks the video size down. The video appears to be provided by YouTube and is available in resolutions up to 1080p and it is very annoying to not be able to watch the video in the proper size and resolution on the HDTV hooked up to my computer.

As a solution I pulled out my handy copy of Replay Media Catcher to record the video and play back in VLC player, but unfortunately only the video ad that plays before the actual video is recorded. The live streams and the recorded videos of events are not saved.

Has anyone had any luck recording from this site? I found some references recording from nbcolympics.com back in 2008, but I believe they are using a different method this time around.

Thanks again for any help.

This question x2! I consistently have a problem recording when there's an ad first.

Hey, we're in the same boat.
I just posted a thread on here about this before seeing yours.
I wish there was a program that can record the videos on their site, without having to use a desktop screen capture program.
Hopefully someone can help. It records the advertisement that comes on before the event, but not the actual event.
NBCOlympics.com is using the Youtube platform.
It's Adobe Flash player video technology, when I right click the video screen during play when watching on the Live Extra full replays that are archived.
Normally, Replay Media Catcher records flash (Adobe) video. Why is it failing this time?
Replay Media Catcher isn't working for the events live or archived on the NBC Olympics site.

Alrighty, I'm not able to access these streams at the moment for some reason - but 4 years ago they were using silverlight for these streams - is this still the case?

i'm the one that poasted the https://forum.applian.com/showthread.php?8554-How-do-you-you-capture-%28record%29-the-stream-from-NBC-Olympics-website thread.

NBC is no longer using silverlight, they switched to youtube live stream, so the player is embedded.

I feel for all of you i had to use my friends cable id to watch the judo olympics and I was furious when i could not download them to my computer. If you see there is a bunch of .flv files given (use a firefox extension to see them) which makes it really hard to see the actual streaming address.

The olympics is free to watch in all other countries except here, if anything maybe finding the stream from another country and using rmc4 there?

oh well i'll let Jeff dfecide.

Are the video streams being streamed in fragments?

Do we need some sort of IPTV / MPEG-TS protocol plug-in for Jaksta?

What about AdobeHDS.php?

Maybe. I am not too well versed in .flv and streaming nut this is the address of one of the files:

"http://r7---comcast-dfw4.c.youtube.com/videoplayback/id/7d0ed1e7a28c483f/itag/93/source/yt_live_broadcast/sq/2?cmbypass=yes&dur=5.280&expire=1343617935&ip=76.31.177.77&ipbits=8&keepalive=yes&key=ck1&live=1&maudio=1&playlist_type=CLEAN&pmbypass=yes&ratebypass=yes&signature=7D5FC1E6865A9DBC49719522B7B578915516024B .25B82728580F47703ABDB64118AB16BBC4A8E7BB&sparams=ip%2Cipbits%2Cexpire%2Cid%2Citag%2Csource% 2Cratebypass%2Ccmbypass%2Cplaylist_type%2Cmaudio%2 Cpmbypass&sver=3&upn=1kY4p8sg8jY&ms=lv&mv=m&mt=1343595508&cms_redirect=yes&file=seg.ts"

As you can see the only thing we get is a lot of seg.ts, when i watched for 2 minutes i was all the way up to 163 files.

So I don't know where to go from here :-(

Hey Guys, this is getting a bit confusing having multiple threads on the same issue. I'm going to CLOSE this thread and ask that you monitor/post in THIS one here.
