Situation:
Tried to burn a .wmv file that was located on my hard drive into a NTSC DVD format for playback on stand alone DVD player.

Issue:
All DVD RW burners can be used to write to either a CD or DVD blank disks but when I attempt to do this the list box shows my ;sony DVD type but shows the wrong "media" type as CD-R when it is supposed to show the media type as "DVD in the list box. See below as I copied the test of the dialog box.

And I am supposed to be burning to a DVD blank disk not a CD-R blank.

Am I supposed to try the other option besides SPTI?

Well I figured it out now. There is no issue with the media type. I now get DVD +R here as my media type when I want to burn a video file.

I had the same problem of the software wanting a CD not a DVD. How did you change it so it would accept the DVD?

I had the same problem of the software wanting a CD not a DVD. How did you change it so it would accept the DVD?

Make sure you inserted a DVD blank disk in your DVD burner drive. Then start Replay Converter 3.0 beta (3b8). Choose add files button. Add just 1 supported video file and choose the open button. Within RC main interface screen you will see a list box containing the direct path and file you added. Then choose the Burn button. Visually it is near the Convert Audio button? Choose Burn to DVD option then choose the burn button. At this point I have to go to my task bar tray and locate the burn to disk icon and press enter or double left mouse click on this icon. Wait and follow the on screen dialog boxes. Choose NTSC which is the default tv standard for USA users. On another screen you will see the device to use and here is where you choose the DVD burner drive. The media type will be automatically detected here. It will say DVD-R or DVD+R next to your DVD burner device. Follow the rest of the screens and you are on your way.
