I'd love to be able to capture video for direct downloading to my ipod. In order to do this, I'd need recording directly to .m4v format. Will Replay Video Capture support this in the future?

Thanks.

We are always improving and working on our programs. We are currently testing an upgrade that does offer the MPEG 4 format.

Cheryl,

I have been testing RVC 5.2.1 and I see the MPEG 4 recording option. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to offer the option to record to the .m4v container format. Do you know if there is a way to record to this type of file which is common for native iPhone/iPod videos?

Thanks,
Chris

m4v file extension is used by Apple for mp4 video files. You may safely used the mp4 instead. As for audio and video codecs, you may use the MPEG-4 AVC (h.264) video codec (such as freeware x264) and the AAC audio codec. You may also use the MPEG-4 video codec and the MP3 audio codec. Then rename mp4 video files into m4v if you like.

p.s.
Make sure to read what video resolution your iPhone and iPod support.
