I have captured a 4 hour flv file using Media Catcher. I need to be able to fast forward or skip forward (and backwards) using the Windows Media Center remote. I don't know of any way to ffwd frev with the remote on an flv file. That would be best. Is there any program that will do that? A second option is to convert the flv into some other format where ffwd frev is possible (again, it has to be via the remote). Thank you.

Have you tried to fix your FLV?
How can FIX FLV Tool be used to make an FLV file seekable

You can also try to use the "MPEG-4 lossless extraction" conversion preset before converting your FLV files. This allows to change container from FLV to MP4 without converting video and audio data.
