Replay Media Catcher 4 converts media files using open source product ffmpeg. All conversions are free and you can choose which version of ffmpeg you want to use.

A variety of factors go into choosing the version of ffmpeg to be included into RMC, but occasionally the version distributed may not be able to correctly convert a downloaded file.

In this case the developer of RMC 4 recommends to try a different version of ffmpeg.

To change to another version of ffmpeg please perform the following steps:

Backup the version of ffmpeg.exe in the installation folder of Replay Media Catcher which is usually Program Files\Applian Technologies\Replay Media Catcher 4.
Download a version from the links below and place in the installation folder of Replay Media Catcher 4.
Adjust conversion presettings of Replay Media Catcher as required for the version of ffmpeg.exe installed.

If it worked I would like it. Have no clue what items in step 3 need adjusting.

How do these versions map to numbers like 0.6.1 or 0.5.3 that I see at ffmpeg.org?
